We are getting close to Christmas. I am trying to keep your children focused. This is a picture of our classroom calendar that I post weekly assignments. Please ask them to check it for daily work, weekly test, and announcements. I have had December up for two weeks...trying to keep them organized. I have many students that are great about writing this down in their agenda. Our ecology test is Wednesday. Have a great weekend...

What a great night we had at our annual science night. The students did an amazing job on their projects. We were very proud of their hard work and excitement in showing their projects. Mrs. Bailey, Mr. Deal and I would like to thank each parent for bringing your child to see the projects. The children were proud to show their parents what they had learned. We were appreciative of your kind words. It is a pleasure to teach your children each day. Thank you for sharing them with us. Getting ready for next week? Things to remember :
Monday- Bring science board back to school Tuesday - science board must be at school. Tonight is science night in cafeteria from 500-630. You may take your board home. If you do not bring board you will receive a 60. This is a test grade. Boards have not been graded. Students ask to work at home. You must bring it back for me to grade. Wednesday- study for ecosystem test next week. Thursday- study review. Guidance day in class. Happy thanksgiving. I hope everyone had a great day with family and friends. I am very blessed today to be with my family. I miss my students and pray for your safety over the holidays.
Students are working on their boards this week. Experiments were assigned November 1. Students are bringing their results to class. We have worked every Thursday on this project. Each section has been completed in class except for the experiment. All your child needs to do is bring in a blank board. I have the labels for them. We will cut them out and place them on the board along with the work we have done in class. If they want anything extra to enhance their work they may bring it. It is not necessary and will not add to the grade. I have all the supplies they will need. This is a stress free project that I do with the students to help them learn the scientific method. This is the same process we follow each week in our lab. Projects letters were sent home today. In short, we will work on project boards in class Thursday - Tuesday. Students can bring any materials they would like to use to enhance or decorate their board. They may be brought home over thanksgiving but must be brought back for science night on November 27. This is when they receive a grade. Please come see all their hard work from 5 - 6:30 in the cafeteria
This week students finished experiments, collected data, and competed a graph. We are storing all our work in a folder in classroom cubbies. Please send science boards this week. We will put the projects together in class on Thursday. Everything is due in class by 11/14. This does NOT mean finished. We will finish them by 11/22. Just in time for thanksgiving. Science night to show of our work is 11/27. I am very proud of your children.

We have a unique opportunity to be a participant in Arbor Day plant a tree. Check out web site. Trees sent home nov. 30 What a day! We made edible cell cookies. Thank you to all who sent candy. Students used their candy to label the parts of the cell. They had a blast. This was a great culminating activity and they will remember the parts for a very long time. Yesterday, we finished the basic part to our science project. I ask the students to begin their experiments at home. Thursday, November 8, we will write the results and make graphs documenting the data. Students may also begin to bring in their project board. Please remember I am helping them in class. This is not something you have to do with them at home. If you have any questions, feel free to post below. Thank you again for your support. Have a great weekend and remember that the world is full of science! Mrs. Tucker |
