Students are participating in an Hour Of Code this week. They accepted the challenge to code a snowman. It was a great success and students are working toward coding their own game.
Students had the opportunity to chat live with scientist. They ask about the climate, animals, and location of the tundra. They were on the frozen Hudson River. It was very cool to chat with students across the world. Students got a up close view of the tundra including polar bears, penguins, and seals. This was a unique classroom opportunity using our new technology.
Students finished our unit on cells today. After researching different cells and what they are made of, students made a cell cookie. They used icing as the cytoplasm. Students loves this part. They loved eating the "gel" like substance. We used different candy as the organelles. They said cells make a great breakfast. After our poor pumpkin was measured and poked , we decorated him after school. This is our entry for the Relay for Life contest. Vote for us. Students start off the week by studying cells. They are exploring cells under the microscope. Are they plant cells or animal cells? Students applied to be on the swat team. Students awesome at technology. They sit at the Geek Bar and help other classmates with their computer questions. |
